Tourist Highlights in Zakopane

KRUPOWKI – the main street of Zakopane, always noisy
and crowded, full of shops, stands, restaurants and
street artists. In Krupowki, you may visit the Tatra
Museum

FAIR AT THE FOOT OF MT. GUBALOWKA – you’ll buy
everything that is related to the mountains and the
highlander tradition, and most of all oscypek, smoked
cheese made of sheep milk

MT. GUBALOWKA – 1123 meters above sea level, you
can go to the top of it by a funicular. The viewing deck
provides you with a great panorama of the Tatra Mountains
and Zakopane that lies below

MUSEUM OF ZAKOPANE STYLE – this traditional museum
is located in a historical wooden villa “Koliba” at
Koscieliska Street

ATMA VILLA – the museum of the Polish composer
Karol Szymanowski who lived and wrote his works at
the beginning of the 19th century

PEKSOWE BRZYSKO CEMETERY – the first cemetery in
Zakopane, dating back to the 19th century, where
locals buried prominent members of their community

WIELKA KROKIEW – a ski jump that witnessed many
world records and is the site for many local and international
ski jumping competitions. The top of Wielka
Krokiew offers a great view of Zakopane

SANCTUARY OF OUR LADY OF FATIMA IN KRZEPTOWKI
– one of the youngest local temples built as a votive
offering for the life of Pope John Paul II being saved

after the attack of 1981
